Waitlists are based on the original application time for each specific program. When space becomes available you will be notified by email! Families are given a two-day window to respond to the placement offer.

We have opted-in to participate in the CCFRI - Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative. Parents do not need to apply for the CCFRI. Parents of Kindergarteners and younger children attending licensed Group and Family Care may receive fee reductions.
This is a monthly payment to help eligible families with the costs of child care. Factors like income, family size, and type of care determine how much support families can get. Families need to renew their applications every year. Find more information here.
No. Our Educators will support families with the toilet-training process.
No, all are welcome at Gateway Children's Centre! Most of our families that attend our programs are from varying backgrounds and belief systems. We will demonstrate virtues such as respect, kindness, generosity, love, peace, and hope through discussion and stories. We will celebrate Christian holidays - Christmas and Easter.
Gateway Children's Centre is an inclusive environment. If your child has ever been recommended to see a specialist, has received support in the past or is recommended for support, please note this on your waitlist and registration form.

Yes. In July and August (8:30am to 5:30pm) we run a Summer program for school-aged children. Your child does not need to be registered at Gateway Children's Centre in order to participate. Parents of enrolled schoolers will be given an opportunity to register first.

Yes, transportation is offered with our Daycare bus.

Each child in our 30 months to school age program will have a rest or nap time each day. Families with children who still require a nap will discuss their child's individual needs with the Educators to ensure that sleep patterns at home are not disrupted.
Our staff are qualified and experienced Early Childhood Educators who hold valid ECE Licenses to practice in BC as per ECE Registry. Our staff who work in the Schooler Program have their Responsible Adult Certification and/or their ECE Assistant's Certificate.
All employees are required to have a clear and current criminal record check, including vulnerable sector screening. Gateway Children's Centre mandates that all employees hold certifications in CPR and First Aid Training.
No, parents are responsible for providing lunch and snacks. From time to time, the Educators will cook/bake with the children being mindful of any allergies or other restrictions.
